RDS - Roller Drill System - the system for improved seed germination and more yield: with the all-new roller harrow and RoTeC Control coulter technology.
The Roller Drill System works as follows:
1. Reconsolidation: in order to optimally provide the seed with water, the wedge rings firm the seedbed in strips along the seed furrow creating a capillary water draw to the upper soil layer.
2. Sowing: working in the smooth groove left by this reconsolidated strip ahead of the coulter, the RoTeC Control coulters, under a high coulter pressure but held out against the firmed seed furrow, thus travel very smoothly, tracing a very precise path and laying the seed into the consolidated furrow bottom.
3. Embedment: the Exact harrow or the Roller harrow, which are adjustable in intensity, cover the seed with loose soil to give the perfect finish of loose on top but firm underneath. With the Roller harrow, for lighter soils on spring drilling, this soil is then also pressed over the top of the seed corn by the additional press rollers
The interaction of the:
• homogeneous, pre-consolidated strips
• depth control discs or, alternatively, depth control rollers.
• consistently high, effective coulter pressure.
• Exact harrow or Roller harrow with adjustable intensity mould themselves together into a perfect system, which guarantees an extremely smooth run of the sowing coulter, even at faster forward speeds, for optimum seed placement and an enhanced germination.
Precise placement even in stony ground
On impact with a stone, the RoTeC Control coulter is lifted out only once whereas coulters that are linked by a parallelogram linkage to a fixed depth roller lift out twice.
Wedge ring roller: targeted reconsolidation ……..
The most important task for the packer roller is reconsolidation. The wedge ring roller creates, via the rubber wedge rings, areas of consolidated ground into which the seed is sown. The following harrow then covers the seed with loose soil from the unconsolidated areas.
Because of this strip-wise reconsolidation, the plant always finds seed/soil contact and, irrespective of the weather conditions, germinates quicker and more evenly to produce the perfect plant stand. The wedge ring roller, consequently, is an insurance policy to timely establishment.
The wedge rings leaves homogeneous, pre-consolidated strips without ‘tread’ marks and this is of crucial advantage, because of the huge effect that this has on the smooth running of the coulter in comparison to rollers with other profiles.
RoTeC Control for drilling after the plough or when mulch sowing
The RoTeC Control coulters run blockage-free, even with large amounts of surface straw or previous crop residues and are fabricated from wear resistant materials. The formation of the seed furrow and the optimised seed guidance into the soil is carried out by, on one side by the coulter disc and on the other side by the furrow former. The polyethylene disc prevents soil sticking to the coulter discs as well as keeping the coulter at the precise sowing depth. Row spacings of both 12.5 cm and 16.6 cm are now available across the board.
The four new model ranges then include:
D9 linkage mounted seed drills: for small, medium or large scale operations, for use after the plough or in min-till situations. Working widths from 2.50 to 12.00 metres
AD Pack Top seed drills: AD Special and AD Super models for Till & Drill combinations in working widths of 2.50, 3.00, 3.5 and 4.00 metres for mounting to Amazone or other makes of power harrow.
AD-P Special pneumatic seed drills: the AD-P Special is the light-weight, value for money machine for medium-sized operations and is available in 3.00, 3.50 and 4.00 metre working widths.
AD-P Super pneumatic seed drills: high speed, big hopper, pneumatic Pack Top seed drill combination in working widths of 3.00 and 4.00 metres for increased productivity.
Cirrus 02 trailed cultivator drill combinations: with RoTeC+ Control 25 coulters or PacTeC linkage guided coulters, working ahead of the wedge ring tyres, in working widths of 3.00 to 6.00 metres. On-board cultivation is provided by the up front cultivator discs.
