Iveco Trakker - Productivity and safety in extreme conditions

We will beat any other quote - guaranteed!

The Trakker is Iveco's heavy truck product for customers looking to operate a dedicated on/off-road range of vehicles that are built to meet the industry's highest environmental and operational expectations.

Trakker is designed to operate in any climate and on any type of terrain - from normal tarmac roads, and/or dirt track roads to extreme off road conditions - providing maximum comfort, safety and productivity

The Trakker, thanks to its characteristics and wide range, is a vehicle suitable for many and varied missions:

  • transport of aggregates, construction plant and materials (tipper, flat bed, beaver tail bodies),
  • transportation and production of concrete (concrete mixer),
  • road maintenance (winter),
  • and exceptional loads.

RANGE

The Trakker range offers:

  • 2 versions (rigid and tractor) with gross vehicle weight respectively up to 41 t (rigid) and 150 t (in the combination tractor + semi-trailer),
  • 2 engines (8 and 13 litres) with 6 power levels up to 500 HP,
  • 7 transmissions (automated EuroTronic 12 gears, manual 9 and 16 gears)
  • 2 cabs: Active day for daily use and Active Time for uses which require an overnight stay on board,
  • 2 sleeper cab roof heights (standard and high),
  • 2, 3 or 4 axles with partial drive and all wheel drive (4x4, 6x4, 6x6 and 8x4).

These features can be combined with a wide choice of frames, suspensions and final drive ratios. The wide variety makes it easy to always find the perfect match between the vehicles mission and body type: in total Trakker is available in more than 1,700 versions from the factory.

DRIVELINE
The Cursor driveline, with variable geometry turbo, offers power and torque at the top of the segment, ease of driving and specific solutions for reduction of fuel consumption and truck down time.
All of the engines satisfy EEV (Enhanced Environmentally Friendly Vehicles) environmental standard.
Besides satisfying these limits, the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction via the use of AdBlue additive) technology, adopted by Iveco on all of its mid to heavy range, contributes to lowering operating costs (with up to 5% lowering in fuel consumption).
The Cursor range offers reduced weights, requires less frequent maintenance (up to 100,000 km) and guarantees greater reliability. In fact, unlike the EGR, the SCR does not include recirculation of the gas in the combustion cycle.
Trakker engines are available in 8 and 13 litre versions and cover a power range from 310 to 500HP. Economic and extremely powerful, with reduced weight, they permit high load capacities with the Cursor 8 engine. The Cursor engines are renowned for their maximum torque output at low rpm and theirconstant wide torque curve

In the UK all Trakker product are fitted with the 12 speed EuroTronic automated transmission as standard. Optionally available are 9 or 16 speedmanual transmissions (with "servoshift").

All Cursor engines are equipped with an Iveco Turbo Brake (decompression engine brake), entirely integrated in the main and auxiliary (retardation brake) braking system. This way the Trakker braking systems guarantee maximum safety combined with low operating costs.

MORE TORQUE, LESS CONSUMPTION, HIGHLY RELIABLE

The design of the turbine, including integrated waste-gate valve, permits high supply pressure even at low idle speeds, thereby optimising torque and consumption. However, upon reaching maximum turbo charging pressure (corresponding to high idle speeds), mechanical protection of the engine and the turbine itself is necessary. This task is performed by the waste-gatesystem, which permits the pressure on the turbine to be maintained at a constant while limiting its upper operational level

MORE TORQUE AT LOW SPEEDS WITHOUT TURBO-LAG

The turbo-charging system contributes decisively to engine performance guaranteeing pick-up on acceleration, greater flexibility and higher torque. It also improves driving comfort eliminating the "turbo-lag": in fact, the engine responds immediately to the accelerator. Through the electronic control, the variable geometry turbine adapts the characteristics of the turbo compressor to the engine revolutions: thanks to a moving wall system the volume of exhaust gas is controlled to the impeller, then in turn the turbo compressor adjusts to the volume of the incoming exhaust gas, permitting optimum control of the turbo charging pressure.

IVECO TURBO BRAKE

The Iveco Turbo Brake (ITB) is a turbo-charged decompression engine brake. The partial re-opening of the exhaust valve at the end of the compression phase allows the resistant force to be taken full advantage of. The ITB decompression brake is modulated by controlling the geometry of the turbo.

DUAL EFFECT ENGINE BRAKE

The CEB - Combined Engine Brake (mounted on the 410 HP Cursor 13) is a powered engine brake which combines two effects: decompression and braking torque. By way of a butterfly valve on the exhaust manifold, a back-pressure of the exhaust gas is created which is useful for slowing down engine revolutions and increasing braking power.
